What does it mean to gift responsibly? It’s simple — keep lotto tickets, scratch tickets, and other forms of gambling out of children’s gifts.
Gambling exposure during childhood is often through some kind of lottery product, given by an adult who is likely unaware of the associated risks. Research shows that the earlier a person’s participation or even exposure to gambling in childhood, the more likely they are to develop a gambling problem later in life.
That’s why we partner with the Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling to promote the Gift Responsibly Campaign at the beginning of the holiday season to help raise public awareness about the risks of youth gambling.
Please play your part this holiday season and gift responsibly. Lottery tickets aren’t for kids.
