For 41 years, The Market has offered everything for a day at the lake, including a little entertainment.

Michael Tatge and his family have owned and run The Market for 41 years and have sold lottery since day one. The superette and gas station in the southern Minnesota lakes region is east of Mankato on Highway 60, close to Madison Lake, Ballantine Lake, Duck Lake and Lake Washington.
The superette stocks everything you need for enjoying the lakes, such as fresh daily baked buns sold individually or in sandwiches, hot food, groceries and produce, and of course, bait and tackle and lottery tickets!
When the fish aren’t cooperating, a little entertainment is in order. Tatge regards the lottery as entertainment, “no different from a professional hockey or football game,” he says.
What Tatge finds most entertaining about lottery games is being part of big wins. The Market sold a $1,000 Match 3 scratch game winner just three weeks after the lottery began selling tickets in April 1990. It has also sold a million-dollar Instant Millions scratch winner, a $100,000 winner from the Super Slots scratch game, and a $100,000 Powerball® winner.
In addition, if the fish aren’t biting and your scratch ticket is a non-winner, The Market offers another opportunity to win. It holds drawings from non-winning scratch tickets for a chance to win fishing gear a few times a year.
