News Release: New Years Eve Million Dollar Mega Millions Win
A $1 Million Mega Millions Prize Won in Minnesota on New Year’s Eve
ROSEVILLE, Minn. (Jan. 2, 2025) — One very lucky Minnesota Lottery player is ringing in the new year with a $1 million Mega Millions® win from the Dec. 31, 2024 drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Cub Foods (Blaine South), located at 585 Northtown Drive in Blaine. The business earns a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The winning Mega Millions numbers drawn on Tuesday, Dec. 31 were 13-22-27-29-35 and the Mega Ball was 1.
This wasn’t the only big new year’s win in Minnesota. Two Minnesota Lottery players also won $1 million on New Year’s Day in the Minnesota Millionaire Raffle. Those winning tickets were sold at Bill’s Superette #11in Nowthen and at Casey’s General Store #2622 in Tracy. Each business earned a $5,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
Minnesota Lottery prizes above $50,000 must be claimed in person at Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville. Prizes $50,000 and below can be claimed by mail or at any regional office. In Minnesota, lottery players have one year to claim prizes. It is recommended that winners call ahead to check hours and to make an appointment.
The names and cities of lottery prize winners above $10,000 are private data. Unless the winner chooses to opt in to publicity, their name and city will not be released.
The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday, Jan. 3 is an estimated $42 million. Minnesota players who want to get in on the fun must purchase their tickets by 9 p.m. on drawing days.
