Two Big Lottery Wins in Minnesota this Weekend
ROSEVILLE, Minn. (Feb. 3, 2025) — Two big lottery prizes were won in Minnesota over the weekend. A Powerball prize worth $50,000 was won in Albert Lea on Saturday, Feb. 1 while a $346,868 Gopher 5 jackpot was hit in Hugo on Friday, Jan. 31.
Kwik Trip, located at 906 Front St. in Albert Lea sold the $50,000 winning Powerball ticket. A lucky player matched four of the first five winning numbers plus the Powerball number to win the prize. The winning Powerball numbers drawn on Feb. 1 were 23 – 29 – 32 – 49 – 61 and the Powerball number was 8.
A Gopher 5 jackpot worth $346,868 was sold at Speedway, located at 14815 Forest Blvd. N. in Hugo. A player matched all five winning numbers drawn to hit the jackpot. The winning numbers drawn were 1-7-14- 27-36. The C-store earns a $3,468 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Minnesota Lottery prizes above $50,000 must be claimed in person at Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville. Prizes $50,000 and below can be claimed by mail or at any regional office. In Minnesota, lottery players have one year to claim prizes. It is recommended that winners call ahead to check hours and to make an appointment.
Information regarding Minnesota Lottery prize winners above $10,000 is private data. Unless a winner chooses to opt in to publicity, their name and city will not be released.
